YOGA & TREKKING RETREAT IN NEPAL

Kyle in nepal

March 28th -April 10th 2023

Join Kyle for his 14 day yoga & trekking retreat in Nepal next March 28th -April 10th 2023 which he will be hosting with his friend Kush Singh.

Located “at the foot of the Himalayan mountains”, as its name suggests in Sanskrit, Nepal is at the crossroads of Asia and boasts a charming blend of its own art of living made up of simplicity, humility and authenticity, and the traditions of its neighbouring countries: India, China and formerly Tibet.

Appreciated by trekking and mountaineering enthusiasts, this sacred land has much more to offer visitors, starting with its cultural and spiritual richness. Adorned with its colourful prayer flags spreading mantras in the wind through the villages, countryside and hills of its magnificent panoramas, and its many temples and monasteries erected in the Hindu and Buddhist faith, Nepal is a real change of scenery for the eyes, as for the heart.

FULL ITINERARY

DAYS 1 -3 Kathmandu

Journey into the effervescence of another time.

From sacred temple to sacred Buddhist and Hindu temples, the Nepalese capital conceals a number of architectural marvels and spiritual places, some of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Kathmandu invites you on a journey through time by venturing into the heart of its lively alleys and the former royal district of Patan. Among the major sites not to be missed, immerse yourself in the luminous atmosphere of the Buddhist stupas of Boudhanath and the Temple of the Monkeys, and get closer to the Hindu rites at the Pashupatinath temple.

DAYS 3- 5 – Pharping – 3 nights

In the footsteps of an Enlightened Buddhist Master

Welcome to the lands of Padmasambhava, known as the second Buddha. You will not fail to see his statue, including the huge one overlooking the neighboring village of Dollu, and among the many monasteries and retreat centers. Nestled on the heights of the Kathmandu valley, the peaceful village of Pharping is a major place of Buddhist pilgrimage. Meet the Lama Sangay and receive teachings from Buddha, before soaking up the energies of the various surrounding Buddhist and Hindu temples and caves.

DAYS 6 – 7 Pokhara

Encounter with the Himalayas

Rejuvenation guaranteed in a postcard setting in Nepal’s second city. Ideally located at the foot of the Annapurna chain, this little corner of Nepalese paradise has something to make you dream and offers you a breathtaking view of the mountains, especially during sunrise from the hill of Sarangkot. Appreciated by tourists in search of thrills, or on the contrary inclined to relaxation, Pokhara has many assets to amaze you. Let yourself be intoxicated by the tranquility as you sail on Phewa Lake towards the temple that sits there and explore the Peace Pagoda.

DAYS 8- 12 Poonhill Trek – 4 nights

Poon Hill trek is one of the most popular in Annapurna region, because its moderate category makes it accessible and doable for most people. This trek offers great scenery and does not go really high as the highest point is at 3,210m/10,530ft.

The main attraction of this trek is the view point of Poon Hill which provides a spectacular panoramic view over the Himalayas including Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, III, and IV, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, and Manaslu ranges among others. Being popularly known as the photographer’s paradise, here you can capture some of the best snaps of impressive Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. We will also witness a spectacular sunrise over the mountain panorama that will leave lasting impressions for years to come as we get to observe the snow-capped mountains awakening to the orange and red hues of the rising sun. In addition to that, Poon Hill Trekking will also let you witness terraced slopes, warm villages, beautiful paddy fields, and wonderful culture and lifestyle of ethnic people like Gurungs, and Magars. The trails leads mainly through ancient Rhododendron forests, thickly covered in moss. Rhododendron trees can be seen blooming in spring, around March-April. We also pass through the traditional Gurung village of Ghandruk which gives us a glimpse into a local life. A visit to Little Paradise teahouse located on a ridge between two mountains is a perfect ending to this picturesque trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal.

RETREAT LEADERS

Kyle is hosting this retreat alongside his dear friend and mentor Kush Singh.

Our yoga journey started when we travelled to Nepal in 2017. This is where we were lucky enough to meet & learn more about the practice of yoga from Kush.
Kush, who originally hails from Varanasi, India, is a Yoga practitioner and teacher since 2010. He has been traveling and teaching Yoga in various parts of India and Nepal, primarily conducting Teacher Training Courses and retreats.
Known for his calm demeanour and unique way of teaching, his core interest lies in exploring the depths of traditional Hatha Yoga techniques, and sharing them with Yoga enthusiasts. His classes not only focus on the physical and mental benefits of the Eight Limbs, but also tap on the spiritual potential of the ancient practices.
This retreat will be an amazing opportunity for you to deepen your knowledge and enhance your life.
