The team behind Shambhala Yoga

OUR STORY

Hello, we are Kyle and Natasha the team behind Shambhala Yoga. We created Shambhala Yoga in 2018 after returning from our travels around the world.

During our time abroad we were fortunate to learn and practice yoga with experienced teachers in places renowned for yoga such as Nepal, India, Thailand and Bali.

Spending time in India, we learned about different yogic schools of philosophies, including Sivananda Yoga at their Ashram in Kerala and Himalayan Iyengar Yoga in Goa. This inspired us to complete our 200 hour Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India in May 2018.

It has always been our vision to bring some of the culture & traditions we soaked up on our travels into our studio and importantly into our style of teaching.

In many Eastern traditions Shambhala is known as a mystical place of ‘Love, Peace & Happiness’. Our vision incorporates these values and we try to create this in all our offerings.

We believe that yoga should be inclusive, regardless of people’s race, ethnicity, social, or economical background, genders, ages, abilities, religions, and sexual orientation.

A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT US

NATASHA FULLERTON

Yoga Teacher & Womens Wellness Coach

I have dipped my toes in and out of yoga for years and admittedly previously seen it as a physical exercise to stretch and increase my flexibility. However, this changed during my travels abroad when I began to experience the healing and transformational benefits of yoga.

After years of struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem and dealing with many challenges in my life, the practice of yoga has been life-changing. So much so, it’s a way of life for me now.

My background is in social work and my aim is to make yoga accessible to everybody and give people the opportunity to experience the same therapeutic benefits I have.

“I love that Natasha empowers you, as soon as I get on my mat I know I have the space to just be & in doing so find freedom in my body & mind”.

I am yoga geek! I have completed a further 300 hours of training including Anatomy, Yin Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Mindfulness for Addictions, Yoga and Mindfulness for Autism and ADHD, and Trauma Informed Yoga.  I am also a qualified Children’s & Teen Yoga Teacher.

Yoga is so much more than the physical practice, it is slowly teaching me to be my true & authentic self. I believe my purpose in life is to share my offerings and empower people to live happier and healthier lives.

KYLE MCLACHLAN

Yoga Teacher

My yoga journey began in 2016, attending classes in an attempt to calm my mind and address my anger issues. I have came a long way since then. During my time travelling, I found the practice of yoga.       I was particularly inspired during my time in India and Nepal and returned home with a positive mindset and clear vision of sharing my knowledge and experience.

Yoga has completely transformed my life, I know now true happiness comes from within. I want to encourage and teach others how it can do the same for them. I believe I have found my life purpose.

I have faced difficulties with my own mental health throughout the years, and yoga has as had real positive effects on my mind and body. My mantra is ‘long breath, long life’.

My aim is to change the stereotypical attitudes towards yoga and encourage more people, particularly men to take up the practice.

I am challenging attitudes around masculinity and my Men who Stretch classes encourage men to come together and see that yoga is for everyone.

“Kyle’s passion for yoga shines through. I love that his classes focus on bringing the traditional practices of yoga to the Western world”.
